Connection to Source - Why Develop This Connection?

In ‘Connection To Source (part one)‘ I discussed my take on the what and where of ‘source‘. In this article let’s talk about ‘why?‘.

Why Develop Your Connection To Source?

Please remember, this is purely personal. These are my thoughts, and as I always say, I don’t expect anyone to agree with me. I just hope they inspire you to think about and to formulate your own thoughts and beliefs on this subject.

There are many reasons why I make connecting to source a priority in my life. I find that when I have a strong connection my life is so much easier and I am so much happier. And I think those two are reason enough. But there’s more.

Do you think you might benefit from some of these?

  • I feel more ‘in flow’
  • I truly know, connect with and pursue my purpose
  • I feel like the universe is conspiring to help me fulfil my purpose, or my destiny if you like.
  • I find that wonderful and meaningful coincidences occur. (You can find out more about my thoughts on meaningful coincidences here)
  • I am more connected to my intuition
  • I can ‘manifest’ quickly and easily – although I am still working on this!
  • Things bother me less
  • I’m calm and centred
  • I worry less about what people think of me
  • I don’t take on everyone else’s problems anymore (you might want to check out my article on empathy if this is a thing for you)
  • I feel supported, strong and part of a bigger picture

I could go on, but I’m sure you get the idea. I find that nurturing my connection to source is essential to my life. I make it a priority. And apart from anything, if something crappy happens, which it sometimes does, I deal with it so much better.

Additionally I find that with this connection to source comes the ability to see things more clearly, and from different perspectives. This helps me to react more appropriately than perhaps I might otherwise have done.

Three Major Bonuses Of Connection To Source

(As if the rest weren’t enough.)

If you’ve spent your life being spiritual and caring, and understanding other people’s perspectives, you may have found that you have frequently felt walked all over. I know I felt that I was for years. With a strong connection to source I realise that I don’t have to allow that to happen, that I am just as important as anyone else, and that I AM allowed to stand up for myself. This divine connection has really helped me to realise this, but also to implement it. (You’ll find more about the consequences of over-empathy here)

As a result of having a deep connection to source, I have also come to understand the benefits of abundance. I realise that it’s ok for me to value myself and the skills and have, and have learnt along the way. We are not required to be hermits, poor, silent, struggling, or dependant on others just because we are spiritual. Equally we are here to enjoy life and the abundance that the universe provides. (Before I get a barrage of rude comments, I acknowledge that money isn’t everything, which is why I haven’t used that word in this paragraph so far, and that there is a need for those who have more to help those who have less but that is a conversation for another time.)

And Perhaps Best Of All

Finally, and I feel the biggest bonus of have a strong connection to source, is the confidence I have in myself that I can do anything I wish. I can be confident in my own skin, and stand in my own power. While I still pursue knowledge, and skills and wisdom, I know that I am already enough. I know that I can make a difference in the world, or at least, in my little part of it.

Find Your Connection To Source

I actively encourage others to find their way to connect with source and begin to experience some of these wonderful benefits. It may not happen overnight, but given time and perspective (and a little silence away from the craziness of modern living) and I believe you will start to see these things in your life too. In the next article on this subject we will look at how you can develop this connection.

No rude commits. Thank you! That is some of the best truths I have ever heard! My biggest struggle is that I just go into trance when ever. I do not know how to turn it on it just happens and sometimes it does not! One lady at the phychic fair here in St Catharines told me I had to learn to turn it off because I do not want to read 100 peoples minds at once. When I try to do to know something I do not and when I am not trying I pick up on things. Empathy is so bad sometimes I do not know if it is my feelings or not. Example… my friend has to use the washroom badly and so do I! We fight who is going first and I go only to realize I did not even have too…SORRY!!!!. Hah hah hah. How do I connect better with source. One other thing I thought you might find interesting… one day I was at work with my friend and I was thinking to myself to name my spirit guide Sherri, I asked for a sign if that name was okay?. All of a sudden my friend who has known me for 2 years called me “Sherri” she shook her head and said. “Sherri? I don’t know why Sherri came out of my mouth?” I did not say a word and just walked away in shock. I sometimes get light turning on by themself, flickering flashing 3 times. My children love me to death but they tell me I am “creepy”! Anyway I just started working ” FOR POOR” because I had problems with co workers thinking I am a witch, evil, etc you know, the new people are already looking at me different. Anyway if you a book that could help me connect with source and figure this all out I would love it! Thanks so much!

Oh, I have many comments every day ranging from rude, to ignorant to pretty abusive but that’s the risk you take when you share your opinions on these matters. In terms of stopping and controlling the kind of thing you describe, yes, I would say it’s essential in order to function in every day life. Learn to tune in to your energy, learn to control and put protection in place, plus how to close and ground your energy. Personally I learnt to do that first before I continued to develop my mediumistic side, which is slightly different to connecting to source. You will find lots of articles about this on here, you can use the search box on the right hand side of the screen to find your subject matter, but maybe start here You may want to look at The Spiritual and Psychic Development workbook, or my book The power in your hands, both of which talk about energy and energetic protection. It takes much practice but once you can control things you can choose what you want to do from there on. bright blessings Helen
