Advanced Professional Development for Coaches
Embodied Presence
An experiential introduction to embodied coaching
What becomes possible when we bring more of ourselves into our coaching?

Embodied Presence is a day of exploration, experience and discovery for qualified coaches who are curious about the role of the body in coaching.
It’s an opportunity to step away from thinking about coaching for a while and experience what it means to become more deeply connected to yourself — to notice, listen and develop a greater awareness of your own embodied experience.
Together, we’ll explore what it means to be grounded and centred, and how we can develop practices that help us reconnect with ourselves and the resources available to us.
A Shared Exploration
Meeting the elements
We’ll work with the elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether as a way of experiencing different qualities within ourselves:
- stability and groundedness
- flow and adaptability
- energy and purpose
- spaciousness and perspective
- connection and integration
In relationship
Because our presence matters
We don’t suddenly become a blank canvas when a coaching conversation begins. We bring ourselves with us.
We might arrive feeling energised and spacious. On another day we might have rushed from a meeting, had a difficult conversation, be tired, distracted, frustrated or carrying something from our own lives.
And things happen while we’re coaching too.
We respond to our clients. We feel things. Our bodies react. Sometimes we’re deeply connected and present; sometimes we realise we’ve been pulled away from ourselves.
Embodied practice isn’t about trying to achieve a permanently calm or perfectly centred state.
- It’s about developing our ability to notice.
- To recognise where we are.
- To reconnect with ourselves.
- To access the resources we need.
- And to choose, with greater awareness, how we want to meet the person in front of us.
An embodied approach
A day to experience, not just to learn
This won’t be a day spent sitting and listening to someone talk about embodiment.
We’ll explore through experience — grounding and centring, movement and reflection, individual and shared exploration, and opportunities to notice what happens when we bring greater embodied awareness into our coaching.
You don’t need any previous experience of embodied or somatic approaches. And you certainly don’t need to be particularly flexible, physically confident or “good at” being in your body.
Just come as you are, and bring your curiosity.
Embodied Presence is for qualified coaches who…
are curious about embodied approaches to coaching;
want to deepen their presence and connection with themselves;
are interested in developing themselves as well as their coaching toolkit;
enjoy learning through experience, reflection and exploration;
are curious about what becomes possible beyond words.
A place to pause
Space to reconnect
I’ve chosen Cowslip Meadows because I want this day to have space around it.
Space to step away from the everyday for a while.
Space to move, breathe and notice.
Space to be curious about your own experience, without needing to get anywhere or get anything right.
And space to reconnect with yourself before turning your attention back towards your coaching and the people you work with.
We’ll have the beautiful studio as our base, with the surrounding countryside giving us opportunities to step outside, breathe and connect with the natural world too.
At lunchtime, we’ll pause to share nourishing, delicious plant-based food, freshly prepared for us by our chef — warming, grounding food that feels part of the experience of the day rather than simply something to eat between sessions.
Because the space in which we learn matters too.
Embodied Presence
This is professional development, but perhaps not quite as you know it.
