use your intuition to get unstuck

Boy, do I feel silly!

I Got stuck. I Didn’t Know How To Get Unstuck!

So I phoned a friend. After all, I couldn’t see the solution, but someone else might be able to.

“I can’t see my way forward on this.” I said to my wonderful friend. “I’m not sure how it’s all going to work together and link up. Ever since I did this talk, I’ve been questioning how to make things work.”

“What was the talk on?” she enquired.

“It was called ‘Connecting the Dots’ – about how you can’t see in advance how things link together, you can only see by looking back afterwards, then you realise everything was perfect and your intuition just led you…. ironically….” It struck me, my voice tapered off, I’d just answered my own question – stop trying, re-engage with and follow your intuition.

We laughed. She said something unbloggable to me and we laughed some more.

I got stuck, but I had the answers to my own problem all along.

The thing is, I know this stuff. I know what works and what doesn’t. For me, trying to make something work with a restrictive, prescriptive, formula is not good. Having a guideline is one thing, but following a strict process really doesn’t work. Everything I’ve ever done has been led by my intuition.

I got stuck. And I forgot that I knew exactly how to become unstuck!

We often have the answers to our biggest question hiding within us. Sometimes we just need the right person to ask the right question, (a friend, a coach, or even a random stranger) and we suddenly remember the answer, or at least what to do to get it. Sometimes we just need a sounding board and then… Eureka!

Within three hours of this conversation I’d solved my problem. Or rather, my intuition had.

Intuition Got Me Unstuck

Sometimes we need to get out of our own way. I know all this, but sometimes I get caught up in my own thoughts, and I forget. It’s a great reminder for me. It’s humbling. But I do feel a bit silly!

So the next part of the plan was to sit down and plan and write the next 20 blogs, get them ready to be scheduled, with all the right SEO and links and this that and the other that I’m supposed to do, according to the online marketing world. (I’ve got a new idea, and this was how I was told to prepare and roll it out).

But I’m not doing that. Instead I’m going to share my silliness with you. Because we all forget sometimes, we all mess up sometimes. And I know that this much planning and thinking would just get me stuck again!

We all get stuck sometimes.

The easiest, most simplest thing in the world is for me to just share my experiences with you. It’s what I’ve always done. I’m not going to plan. I have some ideas, some thoughts, some exciting things I know I will share with you at some point over the next few months, but I’m not going to plan it out. Planning too much stifles me. It puts me in my own way. After all, I actually know what I’m doing, in terms of following my intuition and blogging. So I’m going to revert to type – I’m winging it with you guys on a new project to help get you back in touch with your intuition. To help get you unstuck!

I know exactly how to help you do it, I just needed reminding of some of the things I shouldn’t do! Over-thinking and over-planning!

And one very important thing that I know works – Just Do It!

So who’s with me? Who wants to re-engage with their intuitive side? Who’s along for the ride?

If you are, and you want to keep up with the full picture – snippets, pictures, quick thoughts and videos – ‘like’ my page on Facebook or follow me on twitter – whichever is your poison. (Or make sure you’re signed up to my newsletter where I’ll be doing a weekly roundup of all things intuitive – and possibly a bit weird!)

It’s great to be unstuck, to be back in the flow again. I love it when I know my intuition will take me exactly where I need to go.

Intuitively yours,

Helen
